About LITTLE BESA:
Little Besa was the name that the Kalahari San Bushman shaman Besa gave to Rupert during the years that they worked together. Besa is also the middle name of Rowan – the Horse Boy – Rupert’s autistic son who was healed by old Besa in Namibia back in 2008. Old Besa taught Little Besa (Rupert) many things – things that help shape shift everyday life towards healing, towards joy. During the retreat Rupert will share some key points of what he was taught by his Kalahari mentor to help create joy, healing and every day miracles with this every day shaman’s eye.
About NEURO SCIENCE:
Rupert has a talent for explaining neuroscience in a simple and effective way.
Theory and practice will be alternated during neuroscience.
Topics that will be addressed include (and are not limited to);
How does the nervous system work.
What is the relationship between the nervous system and brain functioning.
The contribution of different forms of movement and what happens in the brain.
What is the effect of Sacral Rocking on the sacral fluid, nervous system and brain.
How to reproduce neurons efficiently.
Rupert has an extraordinary, honoring way of leading people to inspiration, insights and innovation.
During the retreat we’ll look at how to bring this shamanic and this neuroscientific worldview together in an integrative application, with support and tips for how you can use the discoveries at home and change your life, your mind, in the direction of where our joys and heart’s desires lie, which will always take us dancing over the next ridge, the next horizon…
About RUPERT ISAACSON:
As a human rights activist, Rupert lived with hunting & gathering tribes in the Kalahari Desert in South-Africa. He founded the indigenous Land Rights Fund, which helps hunting and gathering tribes gain legal title to their ancestral land and helped the Bushmen of Botswana win the largest land claim in African history in 2006 – which as a result of that he’s now banned from Botswana.
As a successful writer of The Healing Land, which tells the story of his family in Africa and his own story living with the Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert; The Horse Boy, which tells the story of his journey across Mongolia on horseback with his autistic son Rowan; and The Long Ride Home, which tells the three subsequent healing journeys he and his son made to Africa, Australia and the Navajo Reservation and as a successful documentary filmmaker of The Horse Boy and Endangerous, Rupert found other ways of relating to nature and healing.
This combined with being a journalist, discovering how horses can help autism and special needs, running the Horse Boy Foundation and being a successful horse-trainer, his compassion & pureness, his great expertise and insights obtained by these cultures he will bring these gems into your world.
About the LOCATION:
This retreat will take place in the Antwerp Kempen region at the beautiful private domain of Soulhorses in Lille, Belgium. The unique manor, nature and animals will contribute to bring us closer to our true nature and our true joy. Letting our souls be touched by the crackling fire, creating a tribal feel, sharing food and having access to the spirits will bring us to healing and having that joy.
We have chosen luxury and the purity of nature to make this fully catered retreat possible for you. The retreat includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and 2 nights accommodation. A wonderful relaxing space with pillows and blankets will be to our service. Rather into moving? The swimming pool is waiting for you.
FOOD & DRINKS:
All meals are freshly prepared in the manor’s kitchen.
Coffee, tea and water are provided.
Of course, you are welcome to bring your favorite snacks and (non)alcoholic beverages.

PRACTICAL:
The retreat is from Friday July 4 till Sunday July 6, 2025.
We have taken into account those who live farther away and created an opportunity to travel outside of traffic times.
Depending on the weather, the evening program will take place inside or outside alternating between theory and practice.
For the ones who’d like to experience sleeping under the night sky, this is your chance! The domain has it’s own private forest with beautiful spots to fall asleep.
Timetable:Â
On Friday you are welcome from 1:30 p.m. so you can arrive at your leisure.
On Sunday after breakfast we will take a look back at the past days, there is room to share your experiences and we will quietly wrap up with each other so that everyone can return home around noon with a well-filled toolbox.
We offer this full taken care of retreat at an early bird rate of € 789,- incl. VAT.
The early bird rate is valid until May 11, 2025.
After that the rate is € 850,-
The price includes 2 nights’ accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Accommodations are based on shared rooms. One room is set up for 3 people and four rooms are set up for 2 people.
We do not provide refunds. In the unlikely event that you are unable to participate in the retreat, we ask you to provide your own replacement. Of course you can check with us if there is a reserve list.
In the unlikely event that the retreat cannot take place, you will of course receive a full refund.
Registration is final upon payment of the full amount.

Basic English is desirable. Translation to Dutch is possible.
